The most successful singer of the present comes to Vienna this month: her The Born This Way Ball world tour takes eccentric pop artist Lady Gaga to the Stadthalle on 18 August, with the reunited British rock band The Darkness as support. Her long-year performance partner and DJ, Lady Starlight, will also appear in the show as a special guest.

Gürtel Nightwalk

The Gürtel Nightwalk is one of the most popular items on the summer calendar. Taking place on 25 August, its 15th edition offers the usual diverse programme, from easy listening to pop and rock to experimental sounds. Music lovers can stroll around from one club or bar to the next and listen to a variety of bands playing the open-air stages along the busy Gürtel road in the 8th, 16th and 17th districts.

Vienna Summerbreak

Three existing events will merge into one under the heading ‘Vienna Summerbreak’ from 21 August to 2 September. The party weekend kicks off on Friday with the Nightride initiated by the Vienna Transport Authority. The Nightride ticket gives party people free access to around 40 clubs, from Pratersauna to Passage to Volksgarten. On Saturday the Streetparade transforms the Ringstrasse boulevard between Stadtpark and the City Hall into a huge open-air dance floor with music blasting from various sound trucks. The parade is neatly followed by the Streetfestival: starting at 18.00 on Rathausplatz in front of the City Hall it will feature international DJs and spectacular visuals. The Sunday Chillout Lounge, also on Rathausplatz at 15.00, will provide a relaxed end to a weekend of intense partying.
