New Internet Platform Boosts “Austrian
Thanks to a new user-friendly web-site "Austrian" airlines' Internet bookings have risen by 62%. Vienna Airport and the tourist trade have noticed a growth in the number of passengers and overnight stays. A new airport shuttle now connects with Brno.
"Flight Scout" for good-value tickets
On the new Internet booking platform (www.austrian.com), which is available in several languages, you can see at a glance what tickets are available. The tariffs for outgoing and return flights can be combined separately. More than 250,000 customers now subscribe to the Austrian Newsletter "Flight Scout" and are supplied every week with up-to-date price-lists and information. The number of Internet bookings in the January-April 2006 period went up by 62%. The share of mouse-click bookings in Austria stands at 14%, compared with 6.6% world wide, and it is rising. In May Austrian registered an increase of 8.5% in individual travel.Vienna Airport has more passengers
Vienna Airport also reported positive figures in May. 6% more passengers passed through, and air-freight was up by 24.5%. The largest increase in passenger traffic came through connections with the Near East and Middle East - 15.5%. Since the beginning of the year the number of passengers has gone up by 8.8% to a total of almost 6.3 million air-passengers.

Record month for tourism in Vienna
888,000 overnight stays in May meant a powerful boost of 5.2% for the Vienna hotel trade. From January to May 2006 3.34 million overnight stays were registered, 9.2% more than during the same period last year. The largest increases were of guests from Austria itself as well as from Italy, the United States and France, as well as Great Britain, Japan and Spain.Airport shuttle to Brno
As from 19 June Austrian has been providing an airport shuttle service with Brno in the Czech Republic. The bus travels four times daily. The intention is to make life easy for Austrian airline passengers from Brno, said Austrian Director Josef Burger. The "Austrian Airport Bus" can only be used, however, in connection with a flight-booking. The return bus-ticket costs € 20. The one-way journey takes approximately 2½ hours.
