Chilling out after the match

Everything revolves around football and its fans in the biggest host city of the EURO. But what is there to do in Vienna after the match and where can you go on non-match days?

Down by the riverside

If the weather is right you can get into a true holiday mood in Vienna, especially on the Danube Canal. Strandbar Herrmann has designated itself as the Swiss Beach in honour of Austria's EURO co-host. Here, you can relax in deck chairs on a sandy "beach" right by the river and enjoy a culinary and cultural offer with a distinctive Swiss touch. One of the highlights in the run-up to the tournament is the Austria vs Switzerland "fashion match" on 6 June.
The Badeschiff (pool ship) is only a short walk away. Passengers can chill out on deck and on land before concerts and DJ sets starts in the cargo hold at 10pm. If the partying gets too hot you can take a dive into the pool and cool down until midnight.
Another popular outdoor on the Danube Canal is the summerstage where you can wine and dine, play beach volleyball or boule and listen to concerts by bands such as Zweitfrau or Tini Trampler & Die Dreckige Combo.

Urban oasis on arterial road

A range of clubs, bars and restaurants along the U6 underground line offers a broad spectrum of entertainment - from DJ sets to live concerts. The many pavement cafés are a great place to chill out in an urban atmosphere while traffic is flowing by on the inner and outer Gürtel, one of Vienna's main arterial roads.

Jazz up your nights
